Genome informatics bursaries

These provide financial assistance for PhD students attending the genome informatics conference, to be held from 17 to 20 September 2018 in Cambridge. The conference will focus on large-scale approaches to understanding the structure and biology of genomes and will bring together computational biologists, human geneticists and others working on comparative and evolutionary genomics to discuss recent advances in this fast moving field.

PhD students who have submitted an abstract for the conference may apply.  A limited number of registration bursaries are available for PhD students to attend this conference (up to 50% of the registration fee).

  •     Letter of support from supervisor

Clinical Research Career Development Fellowships

This scheme enables medical, dental, veterinary and clinical psychology graduates to continue their research at postdoctoral level and develop scientific independence. It provides support for up to eight years and the flexibility to balance research and clinical responsibilities.

Applications for this scheme are considered twice a year.

Collaborative Awards in Science

Collaborative Awards promote the development of new ideas and speed the pace of discovery. We fund teams of researchers, consisting of independent research groups, to work together on the most important scientific problems that can only be solved through collaborative efforts.

Exploring Human Host-Microbiome Interactions in Health and Disease bursaries

These enable PhD students to attend the exploring human host-microbiome interactions in health and disease conference, to be held from 5 to 7 December 2018 in Cambridge, UK. This conference focuses on current knowledge of how various microbiomes communicate with the host and the factors that influence these interactions. This will also discuss the new developments enabled by metagenomics, metabolomics and other technologies. Sessions on the gut-brain access and the influence of the microbiome on cancer will also be included.
